Enroll your young mountain biker with Coach Wes for the Spring on Wednesday afternoons and watch how they learn to ride with more confidence and control. This weekly mountain bike educational skills lesson is for youth riders of all levels. We practice all kinds of cool things on our bikes and we also enjoy going out on the trails as a group where we learn about trail riding and how to ride safely and in control. This is a no pressure environment where we all focus on building each other up. This is an encouraging environment where riders can learn at their own pace while having fun outdoors. Granby Mountain Bike Skills Academy! Join Coach Wes this spring for his popular Adult MTB Skills Outride and progression sessions. This is a relaxed spring ride club where we focus on practicing our skills out on the trails. It is recommended as a minimum requirement to attend the Adult Fundamentals session on Sunday the 16 of March 2025 if you feel you could benefit from it, it is not compulsory but highly recommended. It will definitely set you up for the MTB skills ride club if you are new to Mountain Biking or need to sharpen up your skills. There are also several other clinics being hosted which you can sign up for separately. This regular spring club ride is held over 10 Sundays from March to June. All the dates are listed below. This session is NOT a distance ride and we all ride at a very relaxed pace. We stop frequently and then practice riding different features and lines out on the trails under the guidance of Coach Wes. We ride a range of various features, from very easy to very difficult, but everyone just rides what they can as safely as they can, and Coach Wes is there to guide you and help you. If there is a feature you would rather skip and just watch and learn from then that's great! We are all here to encourage and learn from each other in a no pressure no judgment environment. We do not ride at a fast pace and we stop regularly, no one is ever leftbehind. We ride approximately 2.5 - 5 miles depending on the group and what our goals are for the skills ride. All levels of riders are welcome. We have something for everyone! Coach Wes will demonstrate and explain how to approach and ride all the different features. Rides will be held at SBP, Cowles Park and various other MTB trail riding areas around Granby and surrounds in NW Connecticut. Coach D'Angelo, his coaching staff and players will work with the kids on ball handling, passing, shooting and incorporate skills games. It is a great way to spend time with friends during spring break. Each participant should bring their own basketball and water bottle.

April Vacation Week - CAS Soccer Camp!  Participants are grouped by age (4-6 years), (7-10 years) or (11-14 years). All levels of ability are welcome! CAS Community Camps focus on creating a fun, learning environment while fostering a love for the game through skills acquisition, conditioned practices and small-sided games. Camp themes are ball mastery (fakes, moves and turns), passing & receiving, dribbling & moving with the ball, shooting & finishing, World Games and tournaments. Each player receives a shirt and ball. For players 4-6 years, shin guards recommended and soccer cleats would be fine, but a safe, appropriate athletic shoe would also be fine. Ages over 6 should wear cleats and shin guards.

Granby Mountain Bike Skills Academy! Join Coach Wes this spring for his popular Adult MTB Skills Outride and progression sessions. This is a relaxed spring ride club where we focus on practicing our skills out on the trails. It is recommended as a minimum requirement to attend the Adult Fundamentals session on Sunday the 16 of March 2025 if you feel you could benefit from it, it is not compulsory but highly recommended. It will definitely set you up for the MTB skills ride club if you are new to Mountain Biking or need to sharpen up your skills. There are also several other clinics being hosted which you can sign up for separately. This regular spring club ride is held over 10 Sundays from March to June. All the dates are listed below. This session is NOT a distance ride and we all ride at a very relaxed pace. We stop frequently and then practice riding different features and lines out on the trails under the guidance of Coach Wes. We ride a range of various features, from very easy to very difficult, but everyone just rides what they can as safely as they can, and Coach Wes is there to guide you and help you. If there is a feature you would rather skip and just watch and learn from then that's great! We are all here to encourage and learn from each other in a no pressure no judgment environment. We do not ride at a fast pace and we stop regularly, no one is ever leftbehind. We ride approximately 2.5 - 5 miles depending on the group and what our goals are for the skills ride. All levels of riders are welcome. We have something for everyone! Coach Wes will demonstrate and explain how to approach and ride all the different features. Rides will be held at SBP, Cowles Park and various other MTB trail riding areas around Granby and surrounds in NW Connecticut. The features we ride will cover the following skills:• Line choice out on the trails• Speed and Approach on corners, climbs and descents.• Technical climbing and descending over roots and rocks• Off camber climbing and Descending• Bridges and Log Rides• Climbing and Descending “Rollahs”• Small Drops & Jumps• And a whole lotta STOKE :)Adult Spring Ride Club Dates March: Sunday the 23rd & 30thApril: Sundays the 6th, 13thMay: Sundays the 4th, 11th, 25th,June: Sundays the 1st, 8th, 15th*There is a $25/person discount for families. Please wear sneakers and bring your own water bottle. Nancy Geaglone, GMHS PE Instructor is running these sessions. She will be teaching the game/rules and will set up rotating games. This lifelong activity  is gaining a lot of popularity and fun for all ages! Granby Mountain Bike Skills Academy! Join Coach Wes and learn how to safely get your wheels in the air! This Mountain Bike Skills Clinic is for those riders keen to learn how to start jumping and air dropping their mountain bikessafely and with the correct technique. We will cover all the most important skills in order to correctly get your wheels in the air and how to land safely. This is a 3 hour jump/drop progression session. This clinic is for beginner to intermediate riders wishing to learn how to jump or improve on their jumping skills. This clinic will be held in a controlled environment out on a grassy field with training aids. All jump skills are discussed and explained first, then demonstrated, after which riders get ample time to practice with professional individual feedback from Coach Wes. Wes will assist you in identifying errors in your technique and give you meaningful corrections to practice and apply to your riding.
