Zumba! Classes
Zumba classes are high-energy, dance-fitness parties set to upbeat, infectious music. A typical 45-to-60-minute session features a warm-up, interval-style cardio tracks that alternate high and low intensities, and a cool-down. The environment is welcoming, casual, and focused on fun rather than perfection.
The Moves: Instructors usually use non-verbal hand cues rather than shouting out step instructions. You just follow their lead and mimic their body movements.
The Intensity: Your heart rate will spike up and down as fast songs alternate with slower songs, giving you a full-body cardio workout without traditional exercises like pushups or burpees.
First-time confusion: It is completely normal to feel uncoordinated or lost during your first class.
The "wrong and strong" rule: Veterans often advise newcomers to just keep moving even if you miss a step; keeping your feet moving is more important than getting the choreography exact.
