Little Makers Vacation Day Programs: Little Chefs and Art Colorful Creations
Let's get creative and have some fun! Little Chef and Colorful Creations Vacation Programs. Looking for something to do on a school day off, join us for Little Makers classes. For Little Chefs, have fun and learn some basic cooking/baking life skills. We will be creating different treats while learning together. Our young chefs will learn the necessary skills needed for cooking. We will focus on safety in the kitchen, reading, following simple recipes, measuring ingredients, familiarization with kitchen equipment and tools while creating tasty treats. The lesson plan includes: providing a recipe for the day, reading and following the recipe, identifying the appropriate ingredients, kitchen equipment and tools needed, prepare the recipe including ingredients, measuring, timing, baking, cooking and then enjoying your new treat! For the Art class, children will explore a variety of materials during the creative process and learn art techniques through modeling and actively using their imagination. The lesson plan includes: Show an example of a finished product (activity for the day), explain the process steps of the project, provide materials needed for project creation, assist where needed and encourage imagination, and marvel at their individual creativity and finished artwork. Parents do not stay for the class. Sign up for one or both programs. These programs are run jointly with the Simsbury Recreation Department and held at the Apple Barn in Simsbury. The instructor for these fun classes is Bonny Hollis.
**There is a $10 material fee per class that should be paid to Bonny upon arrival of class.
