Little Chefs
NEW PROGRAM!! Have fun learning some basic cooking/baking life skills. We will be creating different treats each week while learning together. Our young chefs will learn the necessary skills needed for cooking. We will focus on safety in the kitchen, reading, following simple recipes, measuring ingredients, familiarization with kitchen equipment and tools while creating tasty treats. Lesson Plan to include: ~ Providing a recipe for the day ~ Reading and following the recipe ~ Identify the appropriate ingredients, kitchen equipment and tools needed ~ Prepare the recipe including ingredients, measuring, timing, baking, and cooking ~ Enjoy your new treat!! Our instructor for this new program is Bonny Hollis who has a Bachelor of Science Early Childhood Education from the University of Hartford. She has taught preschool and junior kindergarten at Renbrook School for many years as well as afterschool and summer programs. All recipes are nut free but do contain dairy, eggs and gluten. Please have your child bring a water bottle. A material fee to cover all costs of $8.00 is due to Bonny at the first class. **No class on 5/27 for May Session.
